SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The No. 5 Northeast Community College men’s golf team traveled to Whispering Creek Golf Club in Sioux City, Iowa this week for a 54-hole event over three days as part of the North Central District Tournament. The Hawks finished in second place as a team and have officially qualified for the 2026 NJCAA DII Men’s Golf Championship May 19-22 at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana.

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College athletic department announced their 2025-26 athletic awards at their annual student-athlete banquet Monday night. As voted on by the entire athletic department, Amy Lauby (Fairmont, Neb.) earned the Female Character Student-Athlete of the Year award, Giuseppe Salvatore (Johnstown, Colo.) won the Male Character Student-Athlete of the Year award, Aaliyah Jones (Rapid City, S.D.) was the recipient of the Female Athlete of the Year award and Len Valkema (Leewarden, Netherlands) earned the Male Student-Athlete of the Year award.

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men’s golf team currently sits at No. 5 in the NJCAA DII men’s golf rankings as they prepare to hit the course for the first time this spring Monday morning at Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

AMES, Iowa – Northeast Community College has set an athletic department school record with 119 student-athletes named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Fall Academic All-Region Teams, breaking the previous record of 114. There were 80 First Team Academic All-Region members.

SHERRARD, Ill. – The Northeast Community College men’s golf team was in Sherrard, Illinois Monday and Tuesday to compete in The Battle for the Mississippi against some of the top teams in the nation. The Hawks claimed victory as a team and freshman D’Arcy Whyte (Moama, Australia) took the individual win in the 36-hole event.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men’s golf team was in Council Bluffs, Iowa Monday and Tuesday to compete at the Bent Tree Intercollegiate Showcase. The Hawks finished in fifth place at the tournament against three NJCAA DI programs who finished last season ranked in the top 20 of the national polls.

YANKTON, S.D. – The Northeast Community College men’s golf team traveled to Yankton, South Dakota on Monday and Tuesday to compete in their first tournament of the year at the Mount Marty Invitational. The Hawks finished second in the two-day event while Jonathan Arvidsson (Stockholm, Sweden) finished tied for third as an individual.

AMES, Iowa – Northeast Community College student-athletes have once again tied an athletic department school record for their efforts in the classroom. There were 114 student-athletes who were named to Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Spring Academic All-Region Teams, which marked the third time in athletic department history that 114 student-athletes placed on the list.

PLYMOUTH, Ind. – The No. 9 Northeast Community College men’s golf team completed their time at the 2025 NJCAA DII Men's Golf Championship at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana with Round 4 on Friday. The Hawks finished in seventh place as a team while Tyler Baumchen (Topeka, Kan.) finished in a tie for 15th, which earned him NJCAA Second Team All-American honors.

The Hawks currently sit in seventh place out of 22 teams with just one round left in the tournament.

AMES, Iowa – Northeast Community College head men’s golf coach Ty Heimes has been named Region 11 Coach of the Year while Tyler Baumchen (Topeka, Kan.), Bryson Parker (Turpin, Okla.) and Luke Bonser (Durham, England) were all named First Team All-Region, it was announced by the ICCAC Tuesday.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The No. 10 Northeast Community College men’s golf team competed at the North Central District Tournament Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at Whispering Creek Golf Club in Sioux City, Iowa. Freshman Bryson Parker (Turpin, Okla.) won the three-day event by nine strokes over the entire field while the Hawks finished second as a team and have officially qualified for the national tournament.

PANORA, Iowa – The No. 11 Northeast Community College men’s golf team traveled to Panora, Iowa Wednesday and Thursday for the Southwestern Premier. The Hawks took their third team victory of the spring in the two-day tournament by five strokes in a field full of some of the best teams in their district.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The No. 10 Northeast Community College golf team traveled to Whispering Creek Golf Club in Sioux City, Iowa Monday to compete in the Region 11 Preview against the best teams in their district. The Hawks took the victory in the 18-hole event by one stroke for their second-consecutive win in tournament play.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The No. 10 Northeast Community College men’s golf team traveled to Sioux City, Iowa Thursday and Friday to compete in the Briar Cliff Spring Match Play at Green Valley Golf Course. As the No. 2 seed, the Hawks downed No. 7 Briar Cliff University and No. 3 Morningside University on Thursday before topping No. 1 Northwestern College on Friday to win the event and bring a trophy back to Norfolk.
