PLYMOUTH, Ind. – The No. 9 Northeast Community College men's golf team was back at the 2025 NJCAA DII Men's Golf Championship at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana for Round 2 Wednesday and Round 3 Thursday. The Hawks currently sit in seventh place out of 22 teams with just one round left in the tournament.
The Hawks have fought through six weather delays over the course of the national tournament as rains have made greens unplayable on multiple occasions throughout the event. In Round 2, the Hawks had their round stopped by the weather horn for approximately two hours after battling through two stoppages in Round 1 on Tuesday. Luke Bonser (Durham, England) led the way for Northeast in Round 2 with a low score of 75 while Gunther Soltvedt (Eagle, Colo.) paced the Hawks in Round 3 with a 75 of his own.
Multiple teams had to finish both their second and third rounds on Thursday, but now that everyone has officially caught up to the originally scheduled pace the Hawks sit alone in seventh place and are just three strokes away from sixth. The top 26 finishers with ties after tomorrow will be named NJCAA All-American, and Tyler Baumchen (Topeka, Kan.) currently sits in 27th while Bonser sits in 29th with just one day left at the national tournament.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Men's Golf Coach Ty Heimes on Round 2 and Round 3 as a whole:
"We are hanging in there," Heimes said. "Some bad weather and a lot of delays has maybe messed some things up, but hopefully we can play our best golf when it counts."
Heimes on his mindset heading into the final round of the season and the tournament tomorrow:
"Excited to have one more round," Heimes said. "Hopefully we can play our best round of the tournament. I just want to see us finish off a round. I feel like we get off to good starts and then struggle midway through. We have to really pay attention in the middle of the round. It would be nice to finish with a strong 18 holes."

The Hawks will compete in their final round of the season beginning at 11:12 a.m. tomorrow at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana as part of Day 4 of the NJCAA DII Men's Golf Championship.
