NO. 7 NORTHEAST WOMEN’S SOCCER CAPTURES MASSIVE VICTORY OVER IOWA LAKES

NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 7 Northeast Community College women's soccer team played at home again Wednesday as they hosted NJCAA Division I Iowa Lakes Community College. The Hawks took the convincing win by a final score of 4-1.

The Hawks (7-1-1) started the contest hot as they were able to jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first half. Both teams went on to tally a goal of their own in the second half and Northeast took their second impressive win in a row.

Head men's soccer coach Chad Miller's thoughts on the big win:

"This was a game that I wanted really badly," Miller said. "I've always thought that Iowa Lakes is a quality program. Good team. Good coach. We played so well on Saturday. I wanted the team to prove to me that it wasn't a fluke and that it was the real deal. I challenged them. I said, 'Prove to me that it's real.' And they did. I was extremely happy. To be able to play against Iowa Lakes like that and come out with that result, yeah, I'm happy!"

Miller on his squad now beginning conference play on Saturday:

"We wanted to be ready to go for conference play before we got into region play," Miller said. "I think we proved it the last two weeks. Now our focus is just to make a run through conference."

UP NEXT:

The Hawks will have their first conference game of the season at 3:30 p.m. Saturday against North Iowa Area Community College at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
