WILSON STEPS UP IN NORTHEAST VICTORY OVER NIACC

MASON CITY, Iowa – The Northeast Community College volleyball team hit the floor again Wednesday for a conference contest with North Iowa Area Community College. The Hawks swept the Trojans by a final score of 3-0 to get back into the win column.

Northeast (18-13, 5-4 ICCAC) took care of business with efficiency in the matchup as they didn't allow NIACC over 20 points in any of the three sets and were able to end the night early with their 11th sweep of the season. Kaidence Wilson (North Loup, Neb.) came up big for the Hawks again as her 13 kills led the way for Northeast.

Head Volleyball Coach Amanda Schultze on securing the win over a conference foe:

"It was nice to see this group come out on top tonight," Schultze said. "They have worked hard to fill in some spots and we played some great defense tonight. I'm very proud of my back row."

Schultze on what this class of sophomores have meant to her with Sophomore Day next on Saturday:

"This group of sophomores mean so much to me," Schultze said. They have led the way the last couple of years as they did not have sophomores to look up to. They understand the game and their roles. I'm very proud of how they have carried themselves over the last couple of years. They will truly be missed next year."

The Hawks will host RV Southeastern Community College and No. 15 Central Community College at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. as part of Sophomore Day at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
