Northeast volleyball competes in Ramada Inn Classic

COLUMBUS, Neb. – The Northeast Community College volleyball team hit the road on Friday and Saturday and competed in the Ramada Inn Classic, falling in four sets to Central Community College, before defeating Fort Scott Community College in four sets on Friday at the Raider Fieldhouse in Columbus, Neb.

The Hawks (8-19, 3-3 ICCAC) fell to Neosho County Community College in three sets on Saturday.

Against the Raiders, Rachel Ecklund (Overton, Neb.) tallied 21 kills and 19 digs. Danielle Wadsworth (Wolbach, Neb.) recorded 16 kills and 26 digs. Edyn Sudbeck (Wynot, Neb.) had 48 assists and 24 digs, while Elizabeth Christensen (Stanton, Neb.) had 25 assists.

In the win over Fort Scott, Lauren Kavan (Cedar Bluffs, Neb.) recorded 15 kills and 19 digs. Wadsworth had 12 kills and 16 digs, while Ecklund added 11 kills and 24 digs. Sudbeck tallied 44 assists and 13 digs, while Christensen had 19 digs.

On Saturday, Kavan tallied nine kills, while Ecklund had eight kills and 16 digs. Sudbeck added 25 assists and 14 digs and Christensen pitched in 13 digs.

The Hawks hit the road to square off with Southwestern Community College at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Creston, Iowa.
