NO. 16 NORTHEAST TAKES ON NO. 1 NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI MONDAY IN ARKANSAS

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The No. 16 Northeast Community College women's soccer team battled No. 1 Northwest Mississippi Community College Monday on a neutral field in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Hawks fell in the contest by a final score of 8-0.

Northeast (1-3) knew the challenge that would come in a match with the defending national champion Rangers, but goalkeeper Sarah Huckels (Essen, Germany) put up a strong fight with multiple impressive saves throughout the matchup. The Hawks will now head home before taking on two more ranked squads in Pearl River Community College and Holmes Community College next weekend in St. Louis, Missouri

Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller on the effort from goalkeeper Sarah Huckels:

"I was really happy with Sarah's performance today," Miller said. "She definitely did everything she could to help us."

Miller on the day as a whole:

"It makes it difficult playing the best team in the nation and giving up four goals that quickly," Miller said. "They had us on our heels from the start. What I did like was once we settled down, we were able to move the ball. If we can take anything from that game, I hope that is it."

The Hawks will take the pitch against No. 15 Pearl River Community College at 8 p.m. Friday in St. Louis, Missouri.
