NO. 7 HAWKS ROUT TIGERS SATURDAY AT HOME

NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 7 Northeast Community College women's soccer team returned home for a showdown with Marshalltown Community College Saturday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk. The Hawks topped the Tigers by a final score of 23-0 in the contest.

Northeast (8-2-2, 2-0-1 ICCAC) made quick work of Marshalltown as they were able to find the back of the net early and often. The Hawks will now look to put this big victory past them quickly as they have a rematch of last years Region 11 title game with Iowa Central Community College on deck, a match that Northeast won 2-1 to secure their fourth-straight Region 11 title.

Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller on how the day played out:

"I thought we did really well," Miller said. "Our biggest focus was to try and keep it inside and not go outside as much. Make better use of our space. I thought they did really well at that."

Miller on the rematch with Iowa Central ahead on Wednesday:

"It's going to be a good game," Miller said. "It always is. It's at their place, which is going to make it even tougher. It's always fun to play them. They are going to be competitive, and they are going to be ready, so we are just going to have to be ready for a good game."

The Hawks will travel for a contest with Iowa Central Community College at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
