Hawks slip in first loss of the season

WAHPETON, N.D. – A cold-shooting performance hindered the Northeast Community College women's basketball team on Saturday, falling to North Dakota State College of Science 61-50 in the AmericInn Classic in Wahpeton, N.D.

The Hawks (6-1) shot just 25 percent from the field and ultimately couldn't muster any offensive firepower the rest of the night.

Macey Kulhanek (Howells, Neb.) led the Hawks with 14 points. Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) added 12 points, while Julia Carbonell (Barcelona, Spain) chipped in 11 points.

The Hawks return to the court at 5 p.m. Wednesday against Southeast Community College for a non-conference road trip in Beatrice, Neb.
