KRUSE HAS FOUR HITS IN NORTHEAST SPLIT WITH CENTRAL WEDNESDAY
COLUMBUS, Neb. – The Northeast Community College softball team was in Columbus, Nebraska Wednesday for a doubleheader against Central Community College. The Hawks shut out the Raiders by a final score of 4-0 in Game 1 before losing 11-5 in Game 2.

COLUMBUS, Neb. – The Northeast Community College softball team was in Columbus, Nebraska Wednesday for a doubleheader against Central Community College. The Hawks shut out the Raiders by a final score of 4-0 in Game 1 before losing 11-5 in Game 2.
Northeast (20-31, 8-16 ICCAC) gave the ball to Isabel Raburn (Holdrege, Neb.) in the first ballgame of the day and the freshman shutdown Central and allowed just three hits over seven innings of work. Malika Monroe (Valentine, Neb.) recorded two RBIs in the contest and Delaney Kruse added two hits of her own to lift the Hawks to victory.
Kruse was back at it in Game 2 as she had two more hits in the Northeast defeat. Rachel Hobbs (Hoskins, Neb.) recorded three RBIs in the matchup at the plate while sophomore Talia Bandt (Grand Island, Neb.) also recorded a triple and an RBI. The Hawks will now turn their attention to the final weekend of the regular season with conference matchups against No. 22 North Iowa Area Community College on Saturday and No. 14 Kirkwood Community College on Sunday.

Head Softball Coach Erin Sharpe on the day and her approach to the final weekend of the regular season:
"Game 1 was a good performance by the team and Isabel," Sharpe said. "I'm excited to have a couple of days off to give the girls some rest going into NIACC this weekend."

The Hawks will take on No. 22 North Iowa Area Community College in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mason City, Iowa.
