VALKEMA NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN BY NJCAA TUESDAY

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Northeast Community College men's soccer student-athlete Len Valkema (Leewarden, Netherlands) was named 2025 NJCAA DII Men's Soccer First Team All-American, it was announced by the NJCAA Tuesday. The is the 10th time a men's soccer player from Northeast has been named All-American during the last four seasons, which is the second-most in the nation over that period.

Valkema scored 17 goals, recorded five assists and tallied 39 points while leading the Hawks back to the 2025 NJCAA DII Men's Soccer Championship for the fourth-straight year. The sophomore was previously awarded the title of Region 11 Men's Soccer Player of the Year and was also named First Team All-Region in 2025.

In 2025, Valkema scored the game-winning goal for the Hawks on seven different occasions in matchups against Rock Valley College, the University of Arkansas Cossatot, Hawkeye Community College, Iowa Lakes Community College, Marshalltown Community College, North Iowa Area Community College and Dakota County Technical College.

The 17 goals Valkema scored put him 13th nationally in scoring and he will depart Northeast having scored 30 goals throughout his two years. He was named NJCAA DII Men's Soccer Player of the Week on October 8 after scoring twice against No. 8 Iowa Lakes Community College and once against No. 12 Southeastern Community College.
