NO. 1 HAWKS FALL SATURDAY TO NATIONAL PARK

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The No. 1 Northeast Community College men's soccer team began their road trip in Hot Spring, Arkansas Saturday with matchup against National Park College. The Hawks feel in the contest by a final score of 2-1.

Northeast (2-1) got on the board when Isaac Jordaan (Bridewater, Australia) put in the first goal of his career with the Hawks with an assist from Moritz Zettl (Pirka, Austria), but two goals from the Nighthawks proved too much to overcome. Both teams were tied at one during the halftime intermission, but a second-half goal from Nation Park couldn't be matched by Northeast.

The loss marks the first regular-season defeat for the Hawks in 366 days, dating back to August 29, 2024, when they fell to then-ranked No. 16 Jones College.

Head Men's Soccer Coach Adam Potter on what can be learned form this loss:

"It was bound to happen," Potter said. "When you don't execute a gameplan, that's what happens. It's that simple. The lessons to be learned are that you have to have heart. It's everyone's final. You can't walk in and go on cruise control in every game."

Potter on how he wants his team to bounce back from the adversity of a loss:

"When you run into a wall, you find a way to climb it," Potter said. "It's not going to get any easier. We have a challenging schedule, and we have to take it one game at a time. It's a good wake-up call and a reality check for a lot of our guys. We have to respond on Monday. We have to find a way to react."

The Hawks will compete against the University of Arkansas Cossatot at 12 p.m. Monday in Little Rock, Arkansas.
