ROSEN SCORES TWICE FOR NO. 3 NORTHEAST IN VICTORY OVER NO. 6 PRAIRIE STATE

OTTUMWA, Iowa – The No. 3 Northeast Community College men's soccer team began their 2024 season Friday in a neutral-site contest with No. 6 Prairie State College in Ottumwa, Iowa. The Hawks took the top-10 showdown by a final score of 3-1 to begin the year on a high note.

Northeast (1-0) had chances to score early and often in the matchup but fell behind 1-0 in the first half. Luca Rosen (London, England) evened the score seven minutes before halftime and the defense for Northeast held the Pioneers scoreless the rest of the way. Sophomore Keigo Yoshida (Yokohama, Japan) punched in his first-career goal in a Hawks uniform in the second half and Rosen added his second of the day to secure the ranked victory for Northeast.

The Hawks will host their home opener against South Suburban College at 12 p.m. Sunday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
