NO. 6 NORTHEAST MEN’S SOCCER STRUGGLES TO FIND BACK OF THE NET SATURDAY

NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 6 Northeast Community College men's soccer team was at home for the final time in the regular season Saturday at they played host to No. 12 Southeastern Community College. The Blackhawks bested the Hawks in the ranked matchup by a final score of 4-0.

The Hawks (14-4. 4-2 ICCAC) have now suffered both of their conference losses to the Blackhawks. Much like their first meeting, Northeast controlled possession for the majority of the game but Southeastern was able to punch in clutch goals when needed. There is a possibility that the two teams could face off for a third time this season in a few weeks during postseason play.

Assistant men's soccer coach Jyson Breitbarth on what he wants his group to take from today:

"The biggest thing we want our team to learn from today's match is how important it is to stay composed even when things aren't going our way," Breitbarth said.

Breitbarth on how his team can rebound to finish the season strong:

"The mindset we need to have is to be ready to fight the next battle," Breitbarth said. "What's done is done. We can't dwell on a loss when we have games coming up right around the corner. Pick each other up and be ready for what's still to come."

Northeast will battle Hawkeye Community College for the second time this season at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Waterloo, Iowa.
