Einero leads Hawks in win over Blue Knights

ROSEMOUNT, Minn. – Paul Einero (Cape Town, South Africa) scored three goals on Wednesday as the Northeast Community College men's soccer team (6-12, 5-3 ICCAC) dismantled Dakota County Technical College, 7-1 in Rosemount, Minn.

Einero kick started the Hawks' scoring in the 15^th-minute, followed by a goal from Mano Veldt (Bussum, Netherlands) in the 44^th-minute. Einero accounted for two more goals in the second half that kept the game out of reach for the Blue Knights. Veldt added another goal in the 54^th-minute, while Akuzike Kwilimbe (Blantyre, Malawi) found the back of the net in the 68^th-minute. Axcele Biteghe (Libreville, Gabon) chipped in a goal in the 86^th-minute.

"I felt we played a good game all around today," head coach Chad Miller said. "In the first half we kept control of the pace, but had trouble finding space in front of their goal. At halftime, we talked about playing more direct and that seemed to give us the spark we needed."

The Hawks battle Scott Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
