OMAHA, Neb. – Matthew Kingston (Springfield, Neb.) has been a staple for the Northeast Community College men's golf team the past two seasons.
On Tuesday, he brought home a second-place finish after competing in the 36-hole Midland Invite at the Tiburon Golf Club in Omaha, Neb.
Kingston shot a two-round total 150, just two strokes shy of first place.
Grant Sell (Gothenburg, Neb.) tied for 24th-place with a 166, while Jordan Hart (Omaha, Neb.) tied for 36th-place with a 169. John Lapour (Omaha, Neb.) shot an 81 and a 93 to tie for 41st-place, while Ty Heimes (Battle Creek, Neb.) carded a two-round total of 175 to take 43rd-place.
The Hawks are back on the greens at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Midland Oakland Invite in Oakland, Neb.
