SINGH HAS CAREER-HIGH 30 POINTS FOR NORTHEAST IN MASSIVE VICTORY OVER NO. 24 IOWA WESTERN

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team made the short trip to Council Bluffs, Iowa to finish the regular season with a battle against No. 24 Iowa Western Wednesday night. The Hawks took the contest by a final score of 89-73 to pick up their second victory over a ranked team during the month of February.

Northeast (14-12, 10-10 ICCAC) took down No. 13 Kirkwood Community College back on February 14 on the road in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and the Hawks have now won four of their last five ballgames after taking down the Reivers. Sunny Singh (Queens, N.Y.) recorded a career-high 26 points on Saturday against Western Iowa Tech Community College and backed that effort up by scoring 30 Wednesday night while Scottie Johnson (Denton, Texas) grabbed 15 rebounds.

The Hawks will be the No. 6 seed in the Region 11-A Tournament and will take on No. 3 seed Ellsworth Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The Panthers are ranked No. 9 in the nation.

"We came in with a good game plan to cause them trouble," Clark said. "We executed well defensively and everything else took care of itself. Now we're looking forward to Ellsworth on Saturday!"
