JOHNSON HAS SEASON-HIGH 28 POINTS IN OVERTIME THRILLER FOR NORTHEAST OVER CENTRAL

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team hit their home floor at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk Wednesday night for a conference clash with Central Community College. The Hawks came out on top in overtime by a final score of 80-76.

Northeast (11-11, 7-9 ICCAC) trailed by four at the halftime break but came out in the second half with a purpose to ultimately force overtime late. Scottie Johnson (Denton, Texas) was dominant for the Hawks as he put in a season-high 28 points and added eight rebounds in 39 minutes on the court. Johanes Piscikas (Lakeville, Minn.) tallied 20 points of his own and 11 rebounds for a double-double as the triumph over the Raiders put Northeast solidly at sixth in the ICCAC standings.

"We had a lot of guys step up tonight," Clark said. "Jonasz Piskorski and Camden Green played great off the bench. Some guys had it tough tonight, but this was a gritty win. Getting wins like this in the conference is tough, and we'll take it. This game taught us some good things down the stretch, and then it's back to the drawing board to get ready for Kirkwood."
