FIVE HAWKS SCORE IN DOUBLE FIGURES IN TIGHT BATTLE WITH NO. 12 TRITONS

FORT DODGE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team faced another ranked opponent in the form of No. 12 Iowa Central Community College Wednesday night in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The Hawks were right with the Tritons the whole way before ultimately falling by a final score of 92-89.

Northeast (10-11, 6-9 ICCAC) put up big numbers offensively yet again in the matchup as Johanes Piscikas (Lakeville, Minn.) led the way with 26 points while Ryan Huston (York, Neb.), Sunny Singh (Queens, N.Y.), Scottie Johnson (Denton, Texas) and Marcus Coombs (Blackfoot, Idaho) were all in double figures. The Hawks cut Iowa Central's lead to just two with 12 seconds left In the showdown with a 3-pointer from Singh, but the Tritons made their free throws to secure the victory.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the night with No. 12 Iowa Central:

"Guys didn't give up," Clark said. "We talked before the game that the tougher team is going to win. For 30 minutes, they were tougher. We needed to rebound better. We won nearly every stat, but rebounding. We shot well and got the stops when we needed them, but we just came up short."

The Hawks will have the weekend off before taking on Central Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
