PISCIKAS EXPLODES AND LEADS ALL SCORERS WITH 39 POINTS WEDNESDAY

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team hit their home floor at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk Wednesday night for a battle against Southwestern Community College. The Hawks dropped the matchup by a final score of 86-82.

Northeast (8-9, 4-7 ICCAC) trailed by eight points at the halftime break but quickly tied the contest up after intermission. Johanes Piscikas (Lakeville, Minn.) scored 39 points, which led all scorers, while Lochie Harvey (Yarrawonga, Australia) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Hawks were able to force 18 turnovers in the contest compared to just 13 of their own.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the night at home:

"We made some good adjustments at halftime," Clark said. "Those adjustments helped, but for every run we had, they had an answer for it. The guys played hard, but we just came up short at the end."

Clark on traveling to face No. 4 Ellsworth on Saturday:

"At times, we play better on the road, and sometimes there is a little less pressure on the road," Clark said. "They are a good team, but just like Southwestern tonight, anyone can beat anyone on a given night in our league."

The Hawks will compete against Ellsworth Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
