HAWKS ECLIPSE 100 POINTS IN DOMINANT PERFORMANCE AGAINST RAIDERS WEDNESDAY NIGHT

COLUMBUS, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team headed to Columbus, Nebraska Wednesday night for an intrastate battle against Central Community College. The Hawks controlled both halves of the contest with ease and topped the Raiders by a final score of 103-74.

Northeast (8-7, 4-5 ICCAC) entered the halftime break ahead 51-34 and consistently added to their lead all night as 11 players for the Hawks recorded at least one bucket. Ryan Huston (York, Neb.) was Northeast's leading scored with 20 points while Scottie Johnson (Denton, Texas) stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, five rebounds and four blocks as the 29-point victory was the largest for the Hawks so far in ICCAC play.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on what clicked against Central:

"As a team, we're coming together and playing great ball," Clark said. "We want to be a selfless team and tonight, we were that. We shot the ball better than we ever have."

Clark on heading to North Iowa Area Community College Saturday:

"NIACC just beat a great Iowa Central team, and they're going to be tough and motivated," Clark said. "We need to play our game and play hard. Long road trip and we need to stay locked in. We have the buy-in from the players, now we need to put it together for 40 minutes, and we'll be tough!"

The Hawks will compete against North Iowa Area Community College at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Mason City, Iowa.
