HAWKS TOP PANTHERS BY 45 AS 11 DIFFERENT PLAYERS SCORE WEDNESDAY NIGHT

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team was again home at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk Wednesday night for a matchup against York University JV. The Hawks came out on top by a final score of 92-47 in the showdown.

Northeast (3-1) never trailed and out-rebounded the visiting Panthers, grabbing 52 boards compared to just 30 from York. Johanes Piscikas (Lakeville, Minn.), Ryan Huston (York, Neb.), Sunny Singh (Queens, N.Y.) and EJ Monteagudo (Fort Myers, Fla.) were all in double figures during the contest as 11 different Hawks scored throughout the night. Northeast will be back home for games next Monday and Wednesday before entering the conference portion of their schedule.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on Northeast having 11 scorers during the victory Wednesday:

"We spread the wealth a bit tonight," Clark said. "It was one of those games where we took care of our business and I'm proud of the guys for playing hard. That's all that we ask them to do, and they did that."

Clark on the importance of next week before conference play begins:

"Two tough one's next week," Clark said. "We owe Morningside from last year and we owe Southeast. Two tough ones and we have to get better at rebounding and defending. Tonight, we took steps in the right direction, and we are looking to continue that."

The Hawks will host Morningside University JV at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
