PISCIKAS LEADS NORTHEAST WITH 21 POINTS IN VICTORY OVER CONCORDIA JV
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team began their season Monday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk in a matchup with Concordia University JV. The Hawks secured their first triumph of the year in the showdown by a final score of 81-73.

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team began their season Monday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk in a matchup with Concordia University JV. The Hawks secured their first triumph of the year in the showdown by a final score of 81-73.
Northeast (1-0) was led to victory by freshman Johanes Piscikas (Lakeville, Minn.) who scored 21 points in the first contest of his colligate career. Sophomore Sunny Singh (Queens, N.Y.) put in 20 points of his own as the Hawks led 35-30 at the halftime break and held that advantage throughout the entire second half. There were just four lead changes during the night as Northeast will have Tuesday off before battling Southeast Community College on Wednesday in Lincoln, Nebraska and York University JV on Thursday at home.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on starting the year with a win Monday night:
"Proud of the way the guys played tonight," Clark said. "They played hard. It was our first time playing together and there are things to get better at, but we'll get that figured out as the season gets going. Our bench was big tonight. Guys came in and contributed at a high level. There wasn't any drop off."
Clark on traveling to play Southeast on Wednesday:
"Wednesday is going to be a tough game," Clark said. "We can enjoy this one tonight and then we have a tough three-day stretch ahead of us."

The Hawks will take on Southeast Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lincoln, Nebraska.
