NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team hosted No. 21 Iowa Western Community College at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk Saturday. The Hawks fell in the matchup by a final score of 85-67.
The Hawks (3-8, 0-4 ICCAC) were facing their second ranked opponent in the last four days and trailed just 40-35 at halftime. Collin Nick (Lincoln, Neb.) recorded his second-highest scoring output of the season with 17 points while Luke Brown (Hobart, Australia) added 14 points off the bench. Nick, Brown and Bryson Faines (Lincoln, Neb.) all tallied a double-double in the contest.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on how the afternoon played out:
"I thought that we played hard the first 10-12 minutes of this game," Clark said. "We came out and really asserted what we do. We shot the ball well. We haven't been shooting well this year, and we have been working on shooting. I am proud of the way the guys played on defense. Turnovers hurt us. We cleaned things up in the second half. They shot the ball well at the end and we went away from what we do."
Clark on finishing the semester strong on Monday night:
"We will come back tomorrow and work on Iowa Lakes." Clark said. "They are a good team. They shoot the ball well. We have to come out ready to play. We have to come out strong. We can score in bunches, but we just have to get stops."
