SINGH TIES SEASON-HIGH WITH 18 POINTS AS HAWKS FALL IN MATCHUP WITH NO. 10 PANTHERS

IOWA FALLS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team hit the road to take on No. 10 Ellsworth Community College Wednesday night in Iowa Falls, Iowa in a conference duel. The Hawks came up short in the showdown by a final score of 89-79.

Northeast (3-7, 0-3 ICCAC) was right with the top-10 squad throughout the entire contest as they trailed at halftime by just four points. Sunny Singh (Queens, N.Y.) tied his season-high in points with 18 while Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb.) added 17 and Bryson Faines (Lincoln, Neb.) put in 16. The Hawks will return home next for their final matchup before winter break and will take on another nationally-ranked team in No. 21 Iowa Western Community College.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the night in Iowa Falls:

"We came prepared with what we wanted to do and for the most part executed," Clark said. "We needed to win the rebounds, and we didn't get it done on the glass tonight. That was the difference in the game. Proud of the way guys fought tonight and stayed together. We're learning and growing, and the wins will come."

Clark on battling No. 21 Iowa Western next:

"Looking forward to Saturday," Clark said. "Another matchup with a ranked Iowa Western team that is similar to Ellsworth. We'll get back to work tomorrow and will be ready to defend our home court."

The Hawks will battle No. 21 Iowa Western Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
