BURROUGHS AND GARRETT RECORD DOUBLE-DOUBLES AS NORTHEAST TOPS SOUTHEAST

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska Wednesday night for an intrastate matchup with Southeast Community College. The Hawks took the contest by a final score of 90-74.

Northeast (2-0) saw all five of their starters reach double figures as Sunny Singh (Queens, N.Y) with 16 points, Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb) and Bryson Faines (Lincoln, Neb.) with 12 points, Jacob Martin (Omaha, Neb.) with 11 points and Collin Nick (Lincoln, Neb.) with 10 points were joined on the stat sheet by Keegan Burroughs (Venice, Fla.), who had 13 points off the bench. Burroughs and Garrett both recorded a double-double as Garrett added 12 rebounds and Burroughs tallied 11 boards to keep the Hawks undefeated in the first week of the season.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on his team grabbing their first road victory of the year:

"Lincoln's a tough place to play," Clark said. "Especially when a lot of our guys are from there. They came out with something to prove tonight. Proud of the way they handled the pressure, and they responded well."

Clark on finishing the week with a battle against Central at home:

"The guys are ready to complete the sweep of our three-game week," Clark said. "We got through two games, we're tested and we're ready for Central. Looking forward to Saturday!"

UP NEXT:

The Hawks will be back home and will host Central Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
