NO. 12 IOWA LAKES BESTS NORTHEAST IN TOUGH BATTLE WEDNESDAY NIGHT

ESTHERVILLE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team took on their second ranked opponent in three days as they battled No. 12 Iowa Lakes Community College Wednesday night in Estherville, Iowa. The Lakers took the contest by a final score of 103-65.

Northeast (6-11, 2-8 ICCAC) competed in their fourth contest during the last week with a makeup game due to weather mixed in on Monday and struggled coming out of the gate against the national-ranked squad. Jacob Martin (Omaha, Neb.) had a career-high in points against the Lakers back on December 2 and repeated that performance by tallying 10 points in Wednesday's second meeting. Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb.) is leading the Hawks with 14.1 points per game on the season and contributed another 14 points for Northeast in the duel.

Head Men's Basketball Josh Clark on the recent stretch for his squad and where they can continue to grow down the stretch:

"Late in the season, playing four games in seven days is mentally draining, and it's showing," Clark said. "We're looking to gain experience as we fight through two of the biggest losses I've ever had in all my years on the bench. Right back in the gym tomorrow. Our time is coming. Progress over the prize."
