COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team made the short trip to Council Bluffs, Iowa Thursday to take on Iowa Western Community College. The Hawks downed the Reivers for the second time during the 2022-2023 campaign by a final score of 81-71.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team made the short trip to Council Bluffs, Iowa Thursday to take on Iowa Western Community College. The Hawks downed the Reivers for the second time during the 2022-2023 campaign by a final score of 81-71.
The Hawks (13-16, 4-11 ICCAC) led by as many as 19 in the matchup and controlled much of the game thanks to four different players totaling over 14 points in the ballgame. Emaniel Alexandre (Nassau, Bahamas) had 19 points, Jared Lopez (Lincoln, Neb.) added 18 while Collin Storr (Nassau, Bahamas) and Chaz Cullum (Omaha, Neb.) put in 14 of their own.

Assistant men's basketball coach Junior Denis on the big road win:
"They played together like they know how to play," Denis said. "The most important thing is we made free throws down the stretch."
Denis on his sophomore players competing in their final home game Saturday:
"It's going to be an emotional night seeing these guys leave," Denis said. "They played their hearts out."

The Hawks will close out the regular season at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk against North Iowa Area Community College. Sophomores Saheed Sanusi (Nassau, Bahamas), Emaniel Alexandre (Nassau, Bahamas), Tanner Oestreich (Battle Creek, Neb.), Dade Davis (Bloomfield, Neb.), Jaden Strachan (Nassau, Bahamas), Jared Lopez (Lincoln, Neb.), Collin Storr (Nassau, Bahamas), Chaz Cullum (Omaha, Neb.) and Charles Joseph (Nassau, Bahamas) will be honored before the start of the men's game.
