HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Baseball Coach Marcus Clapp on taking both Saturday contests:
"Our hitters battled," Clapp said. "To find two ways to compete and beat that team shows a lot. I told the guys in the locker room that we can be that team all the time. We can play with anyone. Two big wins and I'm happy for the guys."
Clapp on what the sweep means going forward:
"I think it shows that we can play and compete with anyone," Clapp said. "We can battle offensively with anyone when we stay within and have a good approach. We have to continue to be more consistent on the mound and solid defensively."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will take on Des Moines Area Community College in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
