HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Baseball Coach Marcus Clapp on the series victory against Iowa Western:
"Any time you win a series, I don't care who it's against, it's a big deal," Clapp said. "Obviously, taking a series against Iowa Western is a good feeling. We just have to keep rolling. I thought we had some pretty good stuff today, but we just got down a little bit too far in Game 2 to give ourselves a chance. We'll definitely take a series win against them."
Clapp on the performance from Max Denson:
"He threw really well," Clapp said. "He kept them off balance. Threw strikes. Obviously, the wind blowing in played a big factor for both teams today, but that's what we ask guys to do all year. Throw strikes and give ourselves a chance. We made some plays behind him and it got us our first shutout of the year."
Clapp on the key to a big weekend in Marshalltown:
"Take care of business," Clapp said. "We have to throw strikes and stick with our approach."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will hit the road again and will battle Marshalltown Community College in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday in Marshalltown, Iowa.
