NORTHEAST LAUNCHES FIVE HOMERS TUESDAY IN DOUBLEHEADER WITH NO. 12 IOWA CENTRAL
FORT DODGE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College baseball team headed to Fort Dodge, Iowa Tuesday for a doubleheader with No. 12 Iowa Central Community College. The Hawks fell in the two matchups by final scores of 5-3 in Game 1 and 16-15 in Game 2.

FORT DODGE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College baseball team headed to Fort Dodge, Iowa Tuesday for a doubleheader with No. 12 Iowa Central Community College. The Hawks fell in the two matchups by final scores of 5-3 in Game 1 and 16-15 in Game 2.
Northeast (24-19, 10-10 ICCAC) had a tremendous outing from their pitchers in the first contest of the afternoon as Caleb Lanphear (Gretna, Neb.) and Eli Johnston (Wahoo, Neb.) combined to allow just five hits and a single earned run on the mound. Jack Borgmann (Norfolk, Neb.) launched his fifth home run in the last four games in the showdown to continue what was been a red-hot week.
The second ballgame of the doubleheader was a slugfest as the two squads combined for 25 hits and 31 runs. Ian Shaw (Ogallala, Neb.) blasted his first two homers of the season while Brady Fitzpatrick (Bellevue, Neb.) and Kale Jensen (Central City, Neb.) also sent balls over the fence. Carter Noakes (Dannebrog, Neb.) tallied two hits fresh off of being named ICCAC Athlete of the Week by the conference. The Hawks will now hit the road for another series against a ranked team as they will take on No. 14 Kirkwood Community College this weekend.
