NORTHEAST SWEEPS SUNDAY TO SPLIT SERIES WITH NEOSHO COUNTY

CHANUTE, Kan. – The Northeast Community College baseball team headed to Chanute, Kansas over the weekend take battle with Neosho County Community College in a four-game set. The Panthers took both games Saturday, but the Hawks rallied back to take both games Sunday to split the series.

The Hawks (8-4) dropped both Game 1 by a final score of 7-5 and Game 2 by a final score of 10-8 on Saturday, but Harrison Taubert (Casper, Wyo.) was a bright spot for Northeast. Taubert lunched one home run in the first contest and two more in the second showdown to bring his season total to six on the year.

Game 3 was all about Gage Ingram as he tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out 10 batters while allowing just two hits during his entire start. Jackson Horn (Papillion, Neb.) and Kaden Young (Columbus, Neb.) tacked on RBIs as the Hawks pulled off their third shutout of the season and captured a 3-0 win.

Harrison Taubert was back dominating in Game 4 as his two RBIs helped propel Northeast to a 4-3 victory Sunday to even up the series. The Hawks now have completed a stretch of three-straight weekends that have included 12 games and have a come out with a .667 winning percentage to this point of the season.
