NO. 10 NORTHEAST FINISHES OFF SWEEP OF SOUTHWESTERN

NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 10 ranked Northeast Community College baseball team put the finishing touches on a three-game sweep of Southwestern Community College Sunday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Baseball Field in Norfolk by a final score of 9-2. 

The Hawks (23-3, 3-1 ICCAC) fell behind early after the Spartans scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Hawks pitching staff held strong and did not give up another run through the remainder of the contest. The bats for the Hawks were consistent as they were able to push across runs in five different innings. 

This sweep is the sixth series sweep for the Hawks on the year, and the Hawks have now won 23 of their last 25 games.

UP NEXT 

The Hawks will stay home this week and host Ellsworth Community College Tuesday. The games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Baseball Field in Norfolk.
