Schultze adds Howells-Dodge standout for 2019 season

NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College Head Volleyball Coach Amanda Schultze has been on the recruiting trail the last couple weeks and recently signed Jessi Brester of Howells-Dodge Consolidated last Friday.

As a senior, Brester recorded 39 ace-serves and 197 kills, including Third Team All-Conference honors by the East Husker Conference and Honorable Mention by the Norfolk Daily News, Nebraska Prep Dig, Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World-Herald.

"Jessi is a great kid and very athletic with a lot of potential," Schultze said. "We have had her sister and cousin play for us the last couple years so we are excited to have another Brester on the team. I am looking forward to watching her grow as an athlete."

During her junior year, Brester was named Honorable Mention by the Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal Start and Nebraska Prep Dig.

Last season, the Hawks finished with a 21-15 record and an 8-1 conference record. Northeast was a perfect 11-0 on its home court, while making a third-consecutive trip to the NJCAA DII National Volleyball Tournament in Charleston, W.V.
